EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Unlocking Net Zero (FIBE3 CDT)

 

Abdullah is an MRes/PhD candidate in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, focusing on circular economy in the built environment under the supervision of Dr. Cyrille Dunant. His research is funded by the UKRI and EPSRC, with the aim of advancing sustainable construction practices and resource efficiency within the built environment. Through this work, he seeks to provide solutions that address pressing complex challenges in the built environment.

He was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the FCDO for young leaders, to pursue his MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex, the world's top-ranked university for Development Studies. Abdullah is also trained as an architect and holds several professional certifications such as LEED Green Associate, WELL AP, and Fitwel Ambassador.

Abdullah has worked at several global consultancies, such as Arup, contributing to major projects valued between several millions to over £1 billion. He is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (MIEMA) and has been actively involved in driving sustainability within the built environment. He looks forward to contributing to the SDGs and building a sustainable future.
